About Robot Recess
The 2003 arcade portal, rebuilt for the AI era. Quick games, high scores, and a crowd that decides what is good.
What is this place?
Remember lunch breaks spent on Flash game sites? Robot Recess brings that back, with a twist: every game here was made with help from AI (or by hand, if you are old school), and real players decide which ones are fun.
Creators make games anywhere they like (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or a text editor) and publish in one step. Players play, rate, and push the best ones to the front page. Robot Recess never pays for generating games; we host them, check them, and help the good ones find players.
How a game earns its spot
- UploadWeb form, AI chat (MCP), or command line
- Auto checksSize, files, and no sneaky network calls
- Under Judgment7 days with real players
- In the ArcadeListed, ranked, and on the charts
- FeaturedGame of the Week spotlight
Every new game starts Under Judgment. To make the Arcade within 7 days it needs at least 25 different players who really played (a minute or more, with real button presses; in a quiet week the goal shrinks to match how many people are judging, never below 8), a typical session longer than 90 seconds, an average Fun rating of 3 or more, and 3 or more written reviews. Games that get there early are promoted early.
A game that runs out of time short of players (under 8 players, or only the player goal missed) gets up to 3 extra weeks to find them; if they still don’t come, it rests in the archive and keeps its retry. Games that miss the bar are archived: still playable by link, and the creator can upload a new version to try once more. The top games in each category every week become candidates for Game of the Week, picked by an editor.
Fair play: one vote per account per game, brand-new accounts and logged-out players count for half, and creators cannot judge their own games.
For creators
Publish from the web form, straight from your AI chat with our MCP server, or with the command-line tool. Your dashboard shows plays, where players quit, reviews, the errors players hit, and a ready-to-paste "feedback for my AI" prompt so your AI can make the next version better.
Games get scores, achievements, and cloud saves through the Robot Recess SDK, which we add to every game automatically. Premium creators can also connect their own Supabase project or backend.
For players
